Using authentic family recipes passed down the generations with only the finest ingredients
and time honoured artisan baking techniques, our bakers skillfully craft delicacies and
delights to tempt the taste buds and pleasure the most discerning of palates.
Since 1964, Avanti Pasticceria has been baking continental cakes, pastries, taralli and biscotti
for the wholesale market. But our history stretches across continents and back to 1920's Italy where Maria Luigia Mercurio, the family matriarch, learnt the importance of fresh quality ingredients and the skills to craft traditional cakes and pastries.
Upon immigrating to Australia in 1954 with her husband Pelegrino and young family, Maria Luigia, restricted her time to establishing themselves in this new country and setting up a home for her family. But the love of baking was never far away, as the aroma of freshly baked cakes and biscuits often wafted from her kitchen window.
It wasn't long before Maria Luigia began baking cakes and biscuits for friends and family,
and then the word was out, Traditional Italian cakes, pastries and biscuits baked fresh right
here in Adelaide.
From 1964 til 1980, Baking from their commercial kitchen, Avanti supplied caterers and
retail customers with continental cakes, pastries, biscuits, birthday and wedding cakes.
In 1980, Avanti bought out Foleys Home-made cakes, incorporating pies, pasties, sausage rolls
and other cakes into our product range, to meet the growing demand.
From our new larger premises at our current location in Glynde, Avanti supplied Adelaide's
Delis, corner stores and supermarkets with freshly baked products 7 days a week.
In 1997, Avanti was restructured, to bring the company back to its roots.
Doing what it does best, the best we can! Specialising in traditional continental cakes, pastries,
biscuits, taralli and cakes for that special celebration.
From our humble beginnings, Avanti Pasticceria, has established itself as Adelaide's premier patisserie. Supplying sumptuous sfogliatelle, cannoli, rum baba, danish pastries, taralli, marble cakes and biscotti to some of the finest Cafes, Restaurants, Gourmet Delicatessens
